Outfitting Your Prom Queen in These Trying Times
It’s always been tough to raise a family, and with the economy in the toilet, it’s harder than ever. It’s an unfortunate fact of family life, however, that certain social obligations still crop up, no matter how hard it is to make ends meet. Consider, for example, the matter of acquiring homecoming and prom dresses for your girl. To put it mildly, some of these dresses are frightfully expensive for something your little darling’s likely to wear just once.
But you shouldn’t have to pauper yourself to aid your daughter’s social life. While you may wish it were otherwise, she may have to take a more direct hand in contributing to the dress fund. If she’s responsible enough, suggest she get a part-time job; not only will this pay for the dress, it’ll prepare her for real life later on. Sure, it may not be cool to get a part-time job when you’re a teenager — but she may come around if you tell her it’s either work, or no dress.
If a part-time job isn’t a viable possibility for one reason or another, then jump on the Intermet bandwagon. You’ll find the formal prom dresses you’ve been looking for in no time. So grab your daughter and do some online shopping. Not only will you find some excellent deals on the types of dresses she needs, you can impress her with your mad Internet skillz — which she probably doesn’t expect from someone so old and outdated.
Keep in mind the other items necessary to complete the ensemble. Among other things, you’ll need the proper undergarments for the dress. Given the formal nature of these gowns, you’ll certainly need push up bras or some similar undergarments. The good news is, since these are undergarments, they’ll probably become part of your daughter’s everyday wardrobe — unlike the dress itself.
